And finally, that brings us to 11 Shooting Stars Ago… This song was written specifically to my wife Stephanie’s poem she wrote about when we met. I have kept the hand written poem for more than 20 years…and the pencil is barely legible…but I was able to get all the words figured out and typed up. I just planted that poem on the piano and started playing a piano part…and
trying to come up with a vocal melody that fit. The piano was recorded first, then the vocals, then the drums and finally my son Jamie added a bowed Double Bass part to fill out the ends of the verses as well as the chorus and outro. Steph had no idea I had written this song to her poem until the song was complete and ready for final mixing. Sweet surprise…
