Do you want to Do you want to Do you want to walk with me Do you want to talk with me Do you want to be set free Do you want to be happy Do you want to walk with me Do you want to talk with me Do you want to be set free Time to ditch that theology Walk with me Talk with me Do you want to walk with me Do you want to talk with me Do you want to be set free Then it’s time to ditch that theology Do you want to Do you want to Do you want to Do you want to Walk with me Talk with me Be set free Be happy Walk with me Talk with me Be set free And ditch that theology

11 Shooting Stars Ago... 11 Shooting Stars ago… Days were short and nights were long The sky was always up above And I never really noticed how a full moon lights up the sky 11 Shooting Stars ago... Books were read in silence without the love that soothes my soul I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve seen those eyes before Time moved slowly And there always seemed to be plenty 11 Shooting Stars ago… A single minute, hour, sunrise Changed my mind, days & heart A voice whispers “are you okay?” I move my eyes until I see you Your eyes fill with concern I fall into your heart for safety And your love wraps around me I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve seen those eyes before I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve seen those eyes before I’ve known you a thousand years I’ve seen those eyes 11 Shooting Stars ago… 11 Shooting Stars ago… I found you again I found you again I found you again

about

This album, my first on my own, came together after realizing early in 2021 that all the videos I had made jamming in my home studio during the pandemic actually had some sort of musical theme and connection. This is mostly because it was me playing just about everything and tracking different layers on top of each other…isolated from any other musical influence or collaboration. I was just learning how to record my drums and messing around on the piano and bass in this home studio space I finished out in the early days of COVID-19 isolation.

In the first week of April, I went through all my recordings for the past year, and realized I already had 8 songs that just needing some mixing, plus I was working on 2 others. I wanted at least 10 songs and/or about 30 minutes of music, so I was closer than I thought to having a full album.

By the first week of May, I had a solid 11 songs and 30 minutes of music. While I had been getting better at mixing…and was starting to learn mastering…I really wanted this first solo release album to sound as good as possible. And I knew that was going to be a challenge
given I was learning as I went, using different mic setups over this past year, and the quality of my recording varied widely.

So I sought out someone to take this over the finish line…someone who had much more experience than me at mixing and mastering. And who better than Jack Endino who had produced and mixed my punk band DFL back in 1988 during my first truly professional studio experience. Endino’s band Skin Yard has been a heavy influence for inspiration and he’s world-known for his studio skills in Seattle. On top of that, he’s just an absolute blast to work with.
